 Two
busy business executives, on a Sunday in the country, spotted
a cottage and it changed our world. Out horseback riding, we
had noticed a derelict cottage on the hill opposite. We rode
over, took a look around and fell in love. So began the realisation
of our dream to own and run an exquisite country retreat, the
kind of place we ourselves would enjoy visiting.
We love life, nature and good company! We look forward
to welcoming you to our hidden and delightful part of Ireland.
Tony, Dublin born, raised in England and well travelled,
has a keen interest in history. He is particularly knowledgeable
about the history of the local area and can be enticed to
tell tales! He is also an accomplished horseman, sailor, modeller,
gardener and an entertaining host, if you can catch him off
duty!
Hilde is from Germany/South Africa with roots in both
the northern and southern hemispheres. She has lived in 6
countries and particularly cherishes the cosmopolitan mix
of nationalities that visit the Lodge. She loves cooking,
the outdoors and challenging intellectual debate. Her passion
is optimum wellness which she promotes holistically through
Yoga, natural nutrition, relaxation and stress release techniques.
